Data and API Integrations FAQs
How does Chimney ingest data?
Chimney ingests data through two techniques, either API integrations, or through URL parameters. Both ways can be used to set the default values for calculator inputs.
What kinds of data can we ingest?
Here's a list of data sources we typically will connect with:
- Custom Interest Rates API : We can pull in custom interest rates if there's an API / Endpoint that's accessible. We can integrate with your core system to grab your latest rates.
- Industry Interest Rates API: Another option is to pull in the latest industry mortgage rates via the Zillow API. These rates can be set as the default interest rate for mortgage calculators.
- Other default values: Fields such as loan terms, loan amounts, or minimum deposits are all fields that we can take in and display dynamically.
Can the CTA links be dynamic?
Yes we can dynamically generate CTA links based on user inputs. For example, if someone has a loan calculator, we can use one CTA link if the user inputs a large loan size, and another for a small loan size.
How does Chimney pass data through to my systems?
We can pass calculator values, and any other information out to your systems via URL parameters on the CTA links. This can be set up via our platform settings.
What kind of data can be passed?
You can pass a variety of data through. Here are a few examples:
- Calculator input data
- Qualification scores and routing
- Banker IDs
- Loan Officer IDs
